What it takes
Identify an artist or culture bearer who exemplifies the spirit of the award and, ideally, contact the artist in advance to discuss the guidelines and process.
Submit a nomination using the nomination form during the open nomination window, describing the artist's contributions to their community.
If the nomination moves forward, a Submittable application link is sent to both the nominator and the nominee, and they are encouraged to complete all application materials collaboratively.
Worth knowing
Only one nomination per artist is reviewed. If an artist receives multiple nominations, program staff will determine which best aligns with the award criteria.
