The fellowship is explicitly not for current scholars or academics — it targets practitioners who want to bring their expertise into a university setting. Both the individual and the host institution must apply together and commit to delivering accredited course(s) starting ideally in 2027.

YOUR REAL ODDS

This is the fourth annual edition, meaning a small number of fellowships are awarded globally each year across all applicants worldwide.

The program is global and open to all stages, which broadens the pool significantly. Selection is based on the fellow's expertise, the course's projected impact, budget clarity, and relevance to the 'Systems' Hack' theme — so a strong thematic fit matters a lot.

WHAT IT TAKES

  1. Identify and confirm a willing host university that will sign an MOU to accept you as a visiting scholar and administer the funds — 2–4 weeks

  2. Develop your course concept around the 'Systems' Hack' theme, including learning objectives, pedagogy, and a detailed budget — 2–3 weeks

  3. Submit the joint application (you + host institution) before the deadline — 1–2 days to finalize and submit

WORTH KNOWING

The foundation is explicit that fellows must remain in the city or region of the host institution for the full duration of courses — this is a residency-style commitment, not a fly-in lectureship, so your geographic flexibility is a real factor to resolve before applying.
