Any artist anywhere in the world can apply, as long as your practice engages communities or public space.

Any artist anywhere in the world can apply, as long as your practice engages communities or public space.

YOUR REAL ODDS

Only four artists are selected globally each year, making this highly competitive.

The program is in its early years (2024 was the first cohort), so the applicant pool is still growing, but the worldwide scope means strong competition. Curators evaluate originality, local rootedness, community participation, and feasibility.

WHAT IT TAKES

  1. Read the Program Terms and FAQ on the Fine Acts site before applying — 1–2 hours

  2. Develop a proposal rooted in your local community around the Visible Mending theme—does not need to be fully resolved — 1–2 weeks

  3. Submit application by July 31, 2026 — deadline

WORTH KNOWING

You do not need a finished or fully resolved project to apply—selected artists develop their proposals collaboratively with the curatorial team after selection, so a strong concept and clear community context matter more than a polished plan.
