You qualify if you are a woman or young person based in one of 11 eligible African countries with an early-stage or pre-revenue idea.

Eligible countries are Botswana, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, and Zimbabwe. Your venture can be in almost any industry, from AI to agriculture to healthcare, but it must be at the idea or early stage.

YOUR REAL ODDS

This is a competitive, application-based selection process run annually by a UN body with international reach.

No acceptance rate is published, but the programme is structured, 7 months long, and includes an in-person component in Hiroshima, Japan, suggesting a small cohort is selected. Apply early and with a well-developed project concept.
