What it takes
Your institution nominates you; each major division may nominate only one applicant per year.
Foundation staff screen abstracts, brief CVs, and, if warranted, full applications to determine whether they fit the research focus areas.
Following interviews, four to six Scholars are selected and applicants are notified of the Trustees' decision.
Worth knowing
Each Scholar receives exactly $425,000 over five years, including up to 7.5% indirect costs, and the award must not replace the institution's current support of the applicant's research.
Scholars may also apply for an additional mentoring grant to support junior researchers of color.
