Can you get this?
✓Must be a licensed Canadian winery
✓Must produce bulk wine fermented in Canada
✓Wine from domestic and/or imported agricultural products
✓Maximum $25 million per eligible recipient per year
Your real odds
Every eligible applicant who applied before the June 5, 2026 deadline receives a payment, because the per-litre rate is simply the total funding pool divided by all eligible litres claimed.
This is a pro-rata distribution, so meeting the eligibility criteria is sufficient to receive a share, and larger producers receive more in absolute terms, up to a cap of $25 million per recipient per fiscal year.
What it takes
Confirm you hold a federal winery licence and produced eligible bulk wine April 1, 2025–March 31, 20261–2 hours
Gather production records showing total litres of eligible wine fermented in Canada1–3 days
Submit application via Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's online portal before the intake deadline1–2 hours
Worth knowing
The intake for the 2025–26 production year closed June 5, 2026, but the program runs until March 31, 2027, so a final intake cycle is possible and you should check the funder's site directly to confirm whether another window opens.
