What it takes
Submit an application during the open application period, with one organization designated as the lead applicant if applying as a collaboration.
Provide a detailed, line-item budget tying every dollar requested to a specific project activity and outcome, including a projected cost-per-student metric.
Demonstrate a track record of impactful outcomes serving low-income and first-generation students, citing outcomes related to academic attainment, credential completion, and transitions to postsecondary education or employment.
Connect proposed activities to peer-reviewed evidence demonstrating a causal or predictive link to postsecondary success, livable wages, or workforce readiness for the target population.
Worth knowing
The foundation will not fund programs that only address academic outcomes with limited ties to career-connected learning, adult learners 18 and older only, capital campaigns, direct lobbying, or costs of sustaining an existing program with limited plans to scale.
