YOUR REAL ODDS

BeMed funds 10–15 micro-initiative projects per annual cycle, making this moderately competitive but not extremely selective.

Applications are reviewed by two independent expert reviewers from the BeMed network before a selection committee decides. Organizations can apply a second time once their first project is fully completed and reported.

WHAT IT TAKES

  1. Check the funder's site for the next open call (annual cycle, typically October–January) — 15 minutes

  2. Prepare a project proposal with a provisional budget under €45,000 total and BeMed share at or below 70% — 1–2 weeks

  3. Submit application during the open window — 1 day

  4. Await results — responses sent from mid-March onward — 6–10 weeks after close

WORTH KNOWING

BeMed explicitly values local relevance and durability — projects rooted in a specific Mediterranean context that the applicant knows well are favored, so framing your proposal around deep local knowledge and long-term impact strengthens your case.
